Heaven above was blue and earth beneath was green; the rivers glistened like a path of diamonds in the sun; the birds poured forth their songs from the shady trees; the lark soared high above the waving corn and the deep buzz of insects filled the air.

स्वर्ग ऊपर नीला था और धरती नीचे हरी थी; नदियाँ सूरज की रौशनी में हीरों के रास्ते जैसी झिलमिला रही थी; पंछी छायादार पेड़ों से लगातार अपने गीतों की तान छेड़े हुए थे; लवा पक्षी लहराते हुए मक्कों के ऊपर ऊंचाई पर मंडरा रहे थे और हवा कीटों के घने गुंजन से भरी हुई थी।
